Children living on a housing estate in Ystrad Mynach have been given a new playground.
The park has been funded by Cwm Calon’s developer Redrow and will be managed and maintained by Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Cllr Nigel George, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Services, said: “Caerphilly is committed to providing good quality public open spaces across the county borough to encourage health and active lifestyles.
“We are continuing to develop the network of play provisions for all ages and abilities and help to make Caerphilly a better place to live, work and play.”
Pupils from Ysgol Penalltau recently got to try out the new playground.
Andrea Woods Head of Ysgol Penalltau, said: “Our pupils relished the opportunity to use the new play facility and be ambassadors for their school and their local community.”
Nice to see a new play area for the youngsters, lets hope the yobs leave it alone and not destroy it. One thing that puzzles me is and i quote Cllr Nigel George, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Services, said: “Caerphilly is committed to providing good quality public open spaces across the county borough to encourage health and active lifestyles. This is good but it seems if the area is big enough they can sell it for houses they will e.g playing fields or if they need to close a leisure centre they will. Not very committed to encrouging healthy lifestyles then are we Mr George.!
You should realise by now — they’ve more spin than the roundabout in the ppoto.
