Blackwood Beach Party returns this weekend

News | | Published: 07:58, Saturday June 23rd, 2018.

Blackwood Beach Party is being held this weekend (June 23 & 24).

The party is set to return with a whole host of summer entertainment and stalls selling a range of food, gifts and crafts. Blackwood Town Council’s carnival will also be incorporated into the event on both days for the first time.

The main entertainment will run from 9am until 5pm on Saturday and between 10am and 4pm on the Sunday. This includes a Caribbean steel band; falconry, sea-themed street theatre and children’s funfair rides.

The annual Blackwood Carnival will run alongside the beach party on Saturday and Sunday along High Street.

The carnival parade will head-off from the Market Place at 3pm on Saturday and will make its way to Argos where the main stage is.

This will host a selection of local musicians and acts, with a full programme of entertainment all day Saturday and Sunday.

The colourful carnival parade will feature a variety of novel ‘trolley floats’ decorated by individuals, groups, schools and local retailers in this year’s theme of ‘Year of the Sea’.

For more information on the trolley float parade or to register interest, please contact Blackwood Town Council via email john.hold1@gmail.com or call 01495 224636. Closing date for entries is Friday, June 15.
