Coal mining book to launch at Winding House Museum

News | | Published: 12:00, Monday August 20th, 2018.

The Last Years of Coal Mining in South Wales is by Steve Grudgings

On Saturday, August 25 at 11am, the Winding House Museum in New Tredegar is set to host the launch of a landmark publication which illustrates the last years of the South Wales Coal Industry.

The launch of The Last Years of Coal Mining in South Wales by Steve Grudgings will provide a fantastic opportunity for visitors to hear more about Steve’s visits to the Valleys and his photography, as well as the opportunity to buy his new book during the launch.

Mr Grudgings will also give two talks during the event – the first based on Britannia and Penallta pits and the second on Celenyn North and South and Crumlin Navigation collieries.

The Winding Engine will also run at 12pm, in between the two talks.
