A group of school children who were commended for their behaviour at a theatre performance have been identified as pupils from St James Primary School after an article in the Caerphilly Observer.
Pupils from the school were praised for their behaviour during a visit to Cardiff’s Millennium Centre last month.
A member of the audience of the War Horse show said she was impressed by the pupils’ behaviour during the visit on Thursday, July 19.
In an email to Caerphilly Observer, Gaynor Stephens, from Saundersfoot, in Pembrokeshire, said: “When we took our seats we were surrounded by children from a school in Caerphilly. I don’t know what school it was but the children were very well behaved – a credit to their parents and their teachers.
“Could you please put this letter in your paper so that the parents, teachers and children know how impressed I was. Well done children.”
A teacher from the school recognised it was pupils from St James Primary after reading the article in the current edition of the Caerphilly Observer.
Ms Rhianne Statton, a teacher at St James Primary School, said: “I’m a teacher at the school and so immediately knew that it was our pupils and staff that the article praised.
“I know this as Mrs. Bethan Jones, who organised and took the children on the trip, informed us all of the praise the children had received from members of the audience on their impeccable behaviour.
“We are very grateful to Gaynor Stephens for taking the time to write such lovely, kind words about the pupils and staff who attended the performance.”
I am actually one of the children! This event happened when I was in year 4, I think…
