Gwent Police are appealing for information following a burglary in Hengoed.
The incident happened at around 1.15pm on Friday, June 1,on Hawthorne Avenue. It is believed to have been a distraction burglary.
The resident of the property was in his home at the time when two men knocked his door and told him they needed to check his meter for gas leaks.
One of the men then led him to his back garden to look at a drain cover, while another man stayed in the house, closed the curtains and carried out a search of the property. Both men then left the area on foot.
Gwent Police confirmed that nothing was taken from the property, but said they would like to speak with two men captured on CCTV at the time.
A spokesman for Gwent Police said: “We would like to speak to two men captured on CCTV, who we believe could help our investigation into a distraction burglary. Nothing was taken from the property but officers are keen to speak to two men captured on CCTV in the local area, who may be able to assist with our enquiries.”

Another quick response for information from Gwent constabulary, this happened on the 1st of June, nearly 3 months ago!!! How can any one remember what they did that long ago. Also the photos are terrible how can you recognise anyone from those photographs. Gwent police are failing the people of Caerphilly borough.
