The family of a 91-year-old man killed in a car crash have described him as a “true gentleman”.
Frederick Tucker was the driver of a car that crashed on Kendon Hill, Crumlin, on Friday, August 17.
police said they were called at around 2.30pm to the single vehicle crash.
Mr Tucker, from the Rogerstone area, passed away the following morning, on Saturday, August 18 at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport. Police said his family were by his side.
The family of Mr Tucker, who was once part of the Gwent Police Choir, made the following tribute:
“He was one of life’s true gentleman and will be missed more than words can express.
“The service will be held at Gwent Crematorium on September 21 at 1pm. Family Flowers only, all donations to Risca Male Voice Choir.”
Gwent Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and have urged any witnesses to contact 101 quoting reference number 310 17.08.18.
