Police have arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with a serious sexual on a woman runner in Croespenmaen.
The victim, a woman in her 20s, was attacked in the Kendon Road area of Croespenmaen, sometime between 7pm and 8.30pm on Monday, September 3. Police believe the assault took place somewhere in the area with the junction of Manmoel Road.
The victim was jogging when she was approached and sexually assaulted by an unknown person. Police say she is recovering at home and is being supported by specialist officers.
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said investigations are ongoing and officers are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to contact them by calling 101 quoting log 580 3/9/18.
