Hundreds of runners took part in a charity fun run to help raise thousands of pounds for Velindre Cancer Centre.
The 11-mile charity run between Caerphilly and Cardiff castles took place on Sunday, September 9.
The run, via the Taff Trail, was started by ex-Wales captain Sam Warburton.
Among the 500 plus runners was Kathy Evans, from Usk, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for advanced breast cancer.
The 52-year-old Usk Running Club member, who finished the run in two hours and 45 minutes, said: “The running club girls wanted to do the run and I was originally going to watch, but then I wanted to run it.
“We contacted Velindre and they said yes. Two hours and 45 minutes was not a bad time.
“Running is something that makes you feel good and it is a social thing. It is something I am going to try and keep doing.”
Also taking part were father and son Craig and Alex Coombs from Llanbradach.
Eight-year-old Alex, who was the youngest taking part, ran the full distance with his father in a time of two hours and 40 minutes.
Craig said: “As you can imagine I am an extremely proud father, and with Alex also raising £200 for such a great cause as Velindre. It capped-off a great day.
Kylie McKee, the deputy head of fundraising at Velindre, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the success of the first Velindre Castle to Castle Run on Sunday – it really was incredible. The weather was perfect and the atmosphere was simply amazing.
“To see 500 people crossing the finish line with huge smiles on their faces was just incredible.
“A huge thank you to everybody involved in the event; the volunteers and marshals, the sponsors and donors, the main event organiser Stuart Buswell, and to all the runners – you are all wonderful and without you all it wouldn’t have happened.
“We are really excited to announce the grand total raised hopefully in the next couple of weeks once all the sponsorship is in.
“Money raised for Velindre is used to ensure the best possible support is offered to every patient, their families and carers dealing with cancer. It really is difficult to overstate the difference fundraising makes here at Velindre, but the benefits are invaluable.”
It was the first year that Velindre had organised the event with previous runs being organised by Megaday and Caerphilly Runners.
