A 57-year-old man from Blackwood has died after collapsing in Trethomas.

Police said they were called at around 1.50pm yesterday, Monday, September 24, to Llanfabon Drive following a report of concern of welfare for a man after he had collapsed.

A spokeswoman for the force said: “Gwent Police and the ambulance service attended but sadly, the 57-year-old man from the Blackwood area died shortly after.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and a file has been submitted to the coroner.”

The Wales Air Ambulance also attended.
