Wales’ ‘oldest cat’ dies at 25

News | | Published: 11:30, Friday September 28th, 2018.

Taffy

Wales’ ‘oldest cat’ has sadly passed away at the grand old age of 25 years and six months.

While Taffy did not have any official recognition for his age, it is widely thought that the cat was the oldest in Wales.

His owner, Penyrheol Plaid Cymru councillor Lindsay Whittle, posted this tribute to his faithful feline friend on Facebook.

“It is with a heavy heart I post that tree-climbing-under-my feet-follow-me-everywhere-break-too many-ornaments, but true faithful friend for 25 years and six months legend that is Taffy passed peacefully away at home.

“A great companion who listened to all my woes and never answered back. So faithful it was untrue. I will miss him enormously. Special thanks to all at Valley Vets who cared for him.
“Climb high up those trees my little friend. Diolch a cysgwch yn dawel x.”
