A man who was filmed sitting on the railway track near Bargoed station today is now safe, police have said.
A video, posted on Facebook, shows the man sitting down with police nearby.
A spokeswoman for British Transport Police said: “We are aware of a video circulating on social media which appears to show a person on the tracks close to a level crossing.
“We believe this relates to an incident near Bargoed train station, which we were called to at around 11am today (October 9), following concerns for the welfare of a man.
“British Transport Police officers attended the location alongside colleagues from Gwent Police, and the ambulance service, and a man was taken to a place of safety.”
