Amateur dramatics group Caerphilly Players takes on ‘Blithe Spirit’ this Halloween

News | | Published: 18:31, Thursday October 18th, 2018.

Caerphilly Players Amateur Dramatics Group invites you to come along and get involved in their spooktacular production of haunting comedy, Blithe Spirit.

This comic play by Noël Coward looks at the life of socialite and novelist Charles Condomine, who invites the eccentric clairvoyant, Madame Arcati, to his house to conduct a seance, hoping to get material for his next book.

It all backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his first wife, Elvira, who attempts to upset Charles’ marriage to his second wife who cannot see or hear the ghost. The film adaption of the same name was released in 1945 and starred Rex Harrison, Constance Cummings and Kay Hammond.

The play, directed by Derry Hart, has been given a bit of a twist by having two alternating casts across the four nights.

The dates for play are Tuesday, October 23 to Friday, October 26, with a start time of 7.30pm.

Ticket prices are adults £9, under 16s £6, available on the door or from www.thelittleboxoffice.com/caerphillyplayers
