More than 6,000 homes and businesses in Bargoed are set to benefit from faster internet speeds.
The town will gain access to ‘superfast’ internet speeds of over 330 Megabits per second.
Openreach, who are responsible for the national broadband network, have announced Bargoed as one of 81 areas in the UK to receive upgrades.
Roughly 28 million homes and businesses in the UK can already access Openreach’s fibre network – regardless of internet provider.
The improvements will be made possible by Gfast technology, which works on existing infrastructure without the need to install new cables all the way to a property.
