The A468 has been partially closed following a ‘serious accident’

A 32-year-old woman has been taken to hospital after a serious accident on the road between the Pwllypant and St Cenydd roundabouts, which has caused road closures and traffic jams in and around Caerphilly.

The A468 road between the two roundabouts was closed for several hours but is now reopened.

Diversions are in place and emergency services are at the scene.

The road had been partially-opened briefly to release some congestion, but it was then closed to allow recovery and clean up.

There was significant traffic congestion throughout Caerphilly town for most of the day, while bus services were also affected.
