Gwent Police have appealed for witnesses after a crash in Caerphilly last Friday (December 7) left a 32-year-old woman in a critical condition in hospital.

The accident happened on the A468 between the Pwllypant roundabout and the St Cenydd roundabout.

The road was closed for much of the day, causing traffic congestion in and around the town.

The woman, who is from the Caerphilly area, was airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales with life-threatening injuries.

The crash involved a grey Toyota Avensis and a lorry. A silver Citroen C3 was also damaged in the accident.

Gwent Police are asking anyone who was on the road between 10:35am and 10:55am on the day to check any dash cam footage that may provide further information that will help officers with their enquiries.

Anyone who saw the collision or has any further information should call 101 quoting log 167 of 7/12/2018.
