News | Rhys Williams | Published: 14:00, Monday February 4th, 2019.

Machen Rotary Club has raised £5,475 for charity over the Christmas period.

The club took its Santa sleigh across the community in the run-up to Christmas and will donate the funds to various charitable causes throughout 2019.

Despite cold and rainy weather, the sleigh visited Castle Court Shopping Centre in Caerphilly town centre, as well as the community centres in Penyrheol and Trecenydd.

The Rotary Club is having an open evening and buffet for prospective new members at Machen RFC on Tuesday, February 12.

To express an interest in attending, please contact John Newton before Thursday, February 7 on 01633 440 999 or email him on john.newton645@btinternet.com.
