A Neil Diamond tribute show will be coming to Caerphilly Workmen’s Hall on Saturday, April 6.
The show will star husband and wife duo Richard Jones and Amanda Jones, who are both from Caerphilly.
Tickets will cost £8.25 or £10 on the door, with the proceeds going towards the restoration work at Caerphilly Workmen’s Hall and the Caerphilly branch of the National Autistic Society Cymru (NAS Cymru).
Amanda told Caerphilly Observer: “The show has something for everyone. There will be show tunes, ballads and hits from the 80s and 90s, as well as Neil Diamond, classic duets and upbeat songs from artists such as ABBA and Kings of Leon.
“After singing at a few of my gigs, people noticed that Richard sounded like Neil Diamond, so we launched the Neil Diamond show about six months ago.”
Richard will be performing a number of Neil Diamond’s biggest hits on the night, such as Sweet Caroline among others.
A raffle will also take place at the show, with the prize of a free spring clean from Approved Cleaning Services – which is owned by Richard and Amanda – to be won.
The show will coincide with World Autism Awareness Week, which runs from Monday, April 1 to Sunday, April 7.
Amanda, who co-founded the Caerphilly branch of NAS Cymru in 2013, said: “We have monthly meet-ups, currently at the Cwrt Rawlin pub in Caerphilly, which are good for parents of autistic children who want to share their experiences.
“The branch is being relaunched and we need more volunteers to form a committee.”
