Four police officers have been commended by the Gwent force for their work in bringing a doorstep attacker to justice.
On October 20 last year, Liam Lazenby, 19, went to an address in Mill Close, Caerphilly, and stabbed the occupant multiple times on his doorstep.
Lazenby, of Bargoed, was jailed for six years for wounding with intent.
Gwent Police said the investigation had been complex and that the quality of the case put to the court had secured the conviction and sentence.
DC Pete Clegg, who led the investigation, said: “This was about piecing together what happened, talking to the witnesses and interviewing the victim.
“We had to make sure that all the evidence was available.”
