Drugs seized from properties in Graig-y-Rhacca and Senghenydd

News | Rhys Williams | Published: 10:20, Thursday April 25th, 2019.

Drugs have been seized from two properties in Graig-y-Rhacca and Senghenydd.

At around 9am on Tuesday, April 23, Gwent Police seized Class A drugs – believed to be ecstasy, heroine and amphetamine – from an address on Milton Place, Graig-y-Rhacca.

A second search warrant was also in place at an address on Alexander Terrace, Senghenydd, where a large amount of cannabis was found.

The warrants, which were led by specialist officers, were carried out under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

All drugs seized will now be sent away for forensic examination and identification.

No arrests have yet been made, but enquiries are currently ongoing.

Bedwas Neighbourhood Team ward manager, PC Menna Watkins, said: “We will not tolerate drugs supply in our community. I hope this sends a message to those involved in these types of crimes that we have our eyes on you.

“I’d like to thank our communities for their support which is vital for warrants like these be executed. Nobody knows their streets better than the communities that live there. If you see something that either seems out of place or in most cases, if something just does not add up then please contact Gwent Police.”

Anyone with information can contact Gwent Police on 101.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
