Timothy Higgins has denied the manslaughter of Christopher Gadd

A window fitter has pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter of a farmer during a row in a supermarket car park.

Timothy Higgins, 22, of The Glade, in Wyllie, near Blackwood, also denied charges of causing death while driving without a licence or insurance.

Christopher Gadd died just a day after his 48th birthday after allegedly being struck by a blue Land Rover outside Sainsbury’s Pontllanfraith on Monday, March 4.

Farmer Christopher and his brother Paul were on a routine shopping trip to the store when there was an alleged row over a space in the store car park.

Higgins appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday, April 29, and was granted bail until his trial in July.
