Police were called to Morgan Jones Park this afternoon, Friday, June 7, after a report that a gang of five teenagers were being aggressive to council workers.

Three police cars were seen in the vicinity of the Caerphilly town park after officers were called at around 1.40pm.

Gwent Police said two teens were stopped and searched under section one of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.

A Gwent Police spokesman said: “At approximately 1.40pm today, officers responded to a report of approximately five teenagers being aggressive to council workers in Morgan Jones Park, Caerphilly.

“Officers attended the park, where two teenagers were stop searched under section one of PACE which gives powers to search for prohibited articles such as offensive weapons, if the officers at the time have reasonable ground to suspect that they had these items on them. Body Worn Cameras were also used throughout. No arrests were made.

“All those involved were given suitable words of advice. Three of the teenagers were taken home by officers and two were escorted out of the area.”
