A Welsh language and cultural festival is to return to Caerphilly on Saturday, June 29.

Ffiliffest, which is organised by Menter Caerffili in partnership with Cadw, will be held in Caerphilly Castle.

There will be a variety of activities on offer during the family-friendly event, which will be free to attend.

Ffiliffest, which has been organised to celebrate and support the use of Welsh language and traditions in the community, will begin at 10am and finish at 6pm.

There will be folk dancing, face painting and balloon artistry, as well as a retro gaming hall, a sand pit and an outdoor theatre.

Carys Lloyd, who starred in the BBC talent show All Together Now, and KLA Dance, who reached the final three of The Greatest Dancer, will be performing on the day.

Singers Martyn Geraint, John Nicholas and Ragsy will also be taking to the stage, while celtic music group Allan yn y Fan and jazz group Wonderbrass will also perform.

A number of food and drink stalls will be set up in the castle grounds for the event.

Meanwhile, a concert will be held at the castle on Friday, June 28 at 6pm as part of Ffiliffest.

Performers include Candelas, Gwilym, Wigwam, Ani Glass and Y Sybs.

Tickets for the concert cost £5 and can be bought online at www.tocyn.cymru.
