Bedwas firm honoured at automotive industry awards

News | Rhys Williams | Published: 15:50, Thursday August 1st, 2019.

The Carrier Transicold Southern team with their awards

A Bedwas-based company has won three awards for its refrigerated van maintenance business.

Glenside Commercials won Network Service Partner of the Year, Training Academy Candidate of the Year, and the Carrier Safe award at this year’s Performance and Competitive Excellence (PACE) Awards – the automotive industry’s “Oscars”.

The firm won the awards for its Carrier Transicold Southern maintenance service.

Glenside Commercials is a dealer of Iveco commercial vehicles and Fiat Professional vans across South East Wales.

Established in 1993 at Trecenydd Business Park, the company initially employed just four people.

In 2012, the company moved to its current site at Bedwas House Industrial Estate and now employs nearly 100 people. In 2018, it opened a second site in Newport.

The company’s current customers include the likes of Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Veolia, Dawson Rentals Olleco, Freight Movement and Allied Bakeries.

Mark Lovering, Glenside Commercials’ Carrier Transicold Southern managing director, said: “We’re thrilled to be the very first service partner to take home all three awards in one year. It’s a testament to all the hard work and dedication the team has put in.

“The standards across the service partner network are always extremely high, so the competition was obviously very tough. We’re extremely proud that we managed to bring home all three.”
