A community carnival is to be held at Deri Rugby Club on Saturday, August 3.

The carnival parade will begin at noon from the Bargoed Old Inn, Deri.

Live music, refreshments and entertainment will be on offer at the carnival, which is being organised by the Deri and Groesfaen events group.

There will be performances from The Breakfast Club, Country Vocalist, The Bailey’s Band and Deri’s own Carys Lloyd, who starred on BBC television talent show All Together Now earlier this year.

Activities on offer include hook a duck and hoopla, as well as a duck race with cash prizes.

There will be a range of food and drink on offer too, such as welsh cakes, burgers, hot dogs and authentic Greek food.
