Caerphilly County Borough Council has announced it will seek to improve education and employment opportunities as part of its recently updated Corporate Plan.

The plan also seeks to address the availability of housing and promote a “modern, integrated and sustainable” transport system that “minimises the adverse impacts on the environment”.

In the plan, the council also sets out to create “a county borough that supports a healthy lifestyle in accordance with the Sustainable Development Principle within the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015” as well as supporting people to “to remain independent and improve their well-being”.

Council leader Dave Poole said: “We have embarked upon an exciting but challenging journey of improvement and change and the wellbeing objectives are a critical part of this process as they will help us shape services, target our resources and prioritise our efforts over the next five years.”
