Around 400 calendars showing pictures of Llanbradach past and present has raised more than £700.

Andrew King, who makes the calendars and Cllr Colin Mann, who organises the printing and distribution, handed over a cheque worth £382.50 to Llanbradach and Pwllypant Community Council chairman, Cllr David Rees.

The community council has said it will use the donation for Christmas lighting in the village later this year.

Cllr Mann said: “We are very grateful for the great support that we have again received from the local community.

“Money has gone to youth organisations and Velindre as well as the Christmas lights.”

Mr King said: “I am now well into compiling next year’s edition. Given good support we would be able to make a contribution to the fundraising for defibrillators for the village which has already had an excellent response.”
