Remembrance services to be held across Caerphilly County Borough

Remembrance Day services will be held across Caerphilly County Borough in the run up to Armistice Day on Monday, November 11.

Services will be held on the following dates and locations:

Thursday, November 7

2pm: Abertridwr Community Centre – Service & laying of wreaths.

Friday, November 8

10.30am: Fochriw Memorial – Meet at Fochriw Community Centre.  Parade to memorial for service and laying of wreaths

11am: Market Place, Blackwood – Service only, no wreaths.

Saturday, November 9

10am: Newbridge War Memorial, St Fagans – Meet in car park and parade to Cenotaph for Service and laying of wreaths

10.30am: St James Church, Rudry – Parade from The Old Griffin Inn to St James Church for service & laying of wreaths

10.45am: Deri Memorial Garden – Service and laying of wreaths.

11am: Princetown and Tafarnaubach Memorial, Rhymney – Service and laying of wreaths.

1.30pm: Pontllanfraith House – Service and laying of wreaths followed by remembrance service at St Augustine’s Church, Pontllanfraith at 2.00 p.m.

Sunday, November 10

9.30am: Parry Square, Newbridge – Parade to Tabernacle Church for service followed by parade to cenotaph for laying of wreaths at 11am.

9.30am: Holy Trinity Church, Ystrad Mynach – service followed by parade to cenotaph at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr for service and laying of wreaths at 10.50am.

9.30am: Salem Chapel, High Street, Nelson – Service followed by parade to Nelson cenotaph for laying of  wreaths at 11am.

10am: St Thomas’ Church, Cefn Fforest – Service followed by parade to cenotaph for service and laying of wreaths at 11am.

10am: Moose Hall, Pentwyn Road, Blackwood – Service followed by laying of wreaths at Blackwood Memorial at 11am.

10am: United Reform Church, Senghenydd – Parade to Senghenydd cenotaph for service and laying of wreaths at 11am.

10am: Tirphil Memorial – Service and laying of wreaths.

10am: St David’s Church, Rhymney – Service followed by laying of wreaths at Rhymney Memorial.

10am: St Peter’s Church, Aberbargoed – service followed by service and laying of wreaths at Aberbargoed Memorial Garden at 10.50am.

10am: St Tyfaelog’s Church, Pontlottyn – Service followed by parade to Pontlottyn Memorial for laying of wreaths.

10am: St Theodore’s Church, Ynysddu – service followed by a service and laying of wreaths at Glanynant Memorial Garden, Cwmfelinfach, at 10.45am.

10.15am: Cenotaph, Rifleman Street, Risca – Parade to cenotaph for Service and laying of wreaths.

10.30am: Central Car Park, Llanbradach – Parade to cenotaph, Park View, before service and laying of wreaths at 10.45am.

10.30am: Brithdir Memorial – Service and laying of wreaths.

10.30am: Cenotaph, St Gwladys Church, Bargoed – Service and laying of wreaths.

10.40am: Oakdale Square – Meet for parade to cenotaph, service and laying of wreaths at Oakdale Memorial at 11am.

10.40am: St Catwg’s Church, Gelligaer – Service and laying of wreaths.

10.40am: Tir y Berth Memorial, Churchfield Close – Service and laying of wreaths.

10.45am: Cenotaph, St David’s Road, Pengam – Short service and laying of wreaths followed by service St David’s Church.

10.45am: Markham Memorial, Pantycefn Road – Service and laying of wreaths.

10.45am: Argoed Village Hall Memorial – Service and laying of wreaths.

10.45am: New Tredegar Cenotaph – Service and laying of wreaths followed by service at St Dingat’s Church at 11.10am.

10.45am: St John’s Church, Machen – Service followed by parade to cenotaph for service and laying of wreaths.

11am: Abercarn Cenotaph – Service and laying of wreaths.

11am: Troedrhiwfuwch Memorial – Service and laying of wreaths.

11am: Horeb Church, Trinant – Service and laying of wreaths.

11am: Crumlin Cenotaph, Mining School Hill – Service and laying of wreaths.

11am: Hafodyrynys Cenotaph, next to Community Hall – Service and laying of wreaths.

12pm: Wyllie Cenotaph, Glanhowy Road – Service and laying of wreaths.

12.30pm: Maesycwmmer Community Garden, The Crescent – Service and laying of wreaths

2.30pm: St Martin’s Church, Caerphilly – Parade to cenotaph at the Twyn for service and laying of wreaths at 2.45pm.
