Comedian Owen Money will not be appearing at Blackwood Miners’ Institute in his annual Christmas panto this year following medical advice.
Money was due to star in Aladdin, but the Merthyr-born star suffered a collapse at his home.
In a statement on his Facebook account, Money said: “After a collapse at my home last Tuesday and a spell in hospital I’ve been advised by my doctors not to embark on my annual Panto season, for the time being.
“I have a heart monitor fitted for the next few weeks to aid my treatment. My doctors are very confident that I will make a full recovery.”
The BBC Radio Wales presenter, 72, said he planned to return to the airwaves on November 30 and added: “I’m not ruling out a return to my beloved panto but at this time I must put my health and doctors advice first.”
Money had been due to star in the panto, which he has written and produced, throughout December at the ‘Stute.
The show will go on however with Julian Lewis-Jones as Owen’s replacement.
