Bargoed scored nine tries to thump Ystrad Rhondda 62-0 at Bargoed Park on Saturday, December 7.

The bonus-point win sees Bargoed extend their unbeaten start to the WRU National Championship to nine games.

The hosts took the lead through a Steffan Jones penalty, before No8 Adam Powell scored the first try of the game.

Jones added the conversion as Bargoed took a 10-0 lead within the first ten minutes.

Jones then scored two tries of his own to double the lead to 20-0.

The four-try bonus point was secured before half-time when Kieron Brown crossed the line and Jones added the two extra points from the kicking tee.

Bargoed got their second half underway through a 45th minute try from Rhys Humphries, who had just came off the bench and scored with his first touch of the game. Jones scored the conversion.

Try number six came from Josh Prosser, with Jones added the extras to make it 41-0 to the Bulls.

Soon after, Prosser grabbed his second try of the game with less than 15 minutes remaining, and once again Jones stepped up to score the conversion.

Tries from Darren Humphries and Duane Dyer and two conversions from Jones wrapped up a 62-0 win for Bargoed.

On Saturday, December 14, Bargoed travel to league leaders Pontypool in an early title clash.
