Wales Air Ambulance called to Caerphilly for medical emergency

The Wales Air Ambulance was called to Caerphilly earlier today as part of a medical emergency.

One person was taken to hospital via road by the Welsh Ambulance Service after it was called to White Street at around 9.34am.

A spokesperson from the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We were called on Friday, December 13, at approximately 9.34am to reports of a person needing urgent medical attention on White Street, Caerphilly.

“We responded with one rapid response vehicle, one emergency ambulance and our crews were supported by the Wales Air Ambulance.

“One patient was transported by road ambulance to University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.”

A spokesman for the Wales Air Ambulance said: “[We] attended the scene of an incident in the Caerphilly area this morning.

“Our Dafen-based Charity aircraft was tasked to the scene, arriving ?at 10.47am. Our on-board consultant and critical care practitioners treated the patient at scene before escorting them in a road ambulance to University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, arriving at 12.18pm. Our involvement concluded at 1.25pm.”
