Police appeal after debris from vehicle hits oncoming car

The A469 near the Travellers’ Rest pub

Police are appealing after a car was hit by falling debris from a vehicle on Caerphilly Mountain.

The incident happened on the A469 near to the Travellers’ Rest pub sometime between 11am and 11.20am on Thursday, January 16.

In a statement, Gwent Police said: “A small flatbed lorry/van travelling from the Caerphilly direction towards Cardiff shed some of its load which collided with an oncoming vehicle, a Chevrolet Matiz.  

“The driver of the Matiz sustained minor injuries requiring hospital treatment but has since been released.”

Police also described the incident as a “fail-to-stop collision”.
