Cars set on fire in Blackwood

The cars were set alight on Albany Road

Two cars have been damaged after an arson attack in Blackwood.

The incident happened on Albany Road at around 4.15am on Wednesday, February 19.

A black Mercedes GLA and a white Citreon C3 caught fire during the incident.

Action promised by police after McDonalds’ mass brawl

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and officers from Gwent Police attended the scene.

Smoke engulfs the burning cars

A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Resuce Service said: “A crew from Aberbargoed attended the scene to extinguish the fire.

“The supposed cause at this time has been deemed as deliberate.”

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “Enquiries into the arson are ongoing.

Police and the fire service attended the scene

“We are currently appealing for anyone who may have witnessed or has information about this incident to get in contact with Gwent Police.”
