The Caerphilly Funeral Services team celebrate their award

Three Caerphilly firms have been successful in a prestigious awards ceremony.

Caerphilly Funeral Services won Employer of the Year, Land Rover parts specialist Bearmach, based in Bedwas, won Ecommerce Business of the Year, and Team Metalogic, based in Caerphilly Business Park, won High Growth Business of the Year at the South Wales Chamber of Commerce Awards.

The awards were held in Cardiff earlier this month.

Caerphilly firms up for Welsh Business Awards

Speaking before the awards were announced, Dean Thomas of Caerphilly Funeral Services said: “People sometimes think of the funeral industry as being very traditional, perhaps old fashioned and almost Victorian.

“Being nominated for these awards shows that we are leading a dynamic business and doing everything a modern business should.

“Outside of the funeral industry we are up there with some of the best employers in Wales and some of the best small businesses in Wales.”

Heather Myers, CEO of South Wales Chamber of Commerce said: “We saw an incredibly high standard of entrants this year, giving our judges a difficult task yet again. Considering the continued uncertainty many businesses have faced it is clear in Wales they are still rising to the challenge.

“It has been inspiring to see so many hard-working businesses celebrating their success with their teams and gaining the recognition they deserve for all they have done to enhance the Welsh economy.”
