A fire has broken out at a commercial property on Penallta Industrial Estate.

The fire, at a site on West Road, was reported to South Wales Fire and Rescue Service at around 12.12pm on Thursday (March 26).

Fire crews from Aberbargoed, Caerphilly, Pontypridd, Treharris and Maindee attended the scene.

A fire service spokesperson said the blaze “is believed to be accidental”.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “Officers assisted the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service by closing the road and helping with traffic management.”

The road reopened later on Thursday afternoon.
