A dead body found in Blackwood has been comfirmed as a 44-year-old man.

The body was found near Highfields Way on Tuesday (April 14).

The discovery of the body was reported to the police at 8.20am.

Gwent Police is yet to reveal the man’s identity.

A postmortem has taken place and further tests have been requested, police say.

The death will continue to be treated as ‘unexplained’.
