Five members of staff at Sainsbury’s in Pontllanfraith have cut their hair short

More than £1,000 has been raised for Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr in Ystrad Mynach by staff at the Sainsbury’s store in Pontllanfraith.

As part of the store’s fundraising efforts, five members of staff – Sherry Ebdon, Helen Wilkinson, Janet Griffiths, Alyson Porthcarey and Dawn Loinz – all cut their hair short at home.

This, alongside donations made by customers at the store over the last three weeks, has seen around £1,085 raised at the time of publication.

Staff member Linda Korczynski said: “It’s absolutely amazing. Our colleagues and customers have been so helpful, despite all that is going on at the moment.”
