A blood donation hub will be set up at Caerphilly Leisure Centre at the end of June.

The hub will be open on Monday, June 29 and Tuesday, June 30.

The Monday sessions will run between 10am and 12.30pm, and again between 2pm and 5.30pm, with the Tuesday sessions running from 9.30am to 12.30pm, and again from 2pm to 5.30pm.

The Welsh Blood Service, which is running the hub, has said it is “asking nobody to travel any more than 15 miles” to make a donation.

Despite the coronavirus lockdown, travelling to give blood is classed as essential travel. However, there won’t be any walk-in slots available, with all donors required to book in advance.

A blood donation hub opened at the leisure centre for a week in May, with 643 donors attending to give blood – 130 of which had never given blood before.
