Motorcyclist hospitalised following crash on A468

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the A468.

The crash involved a Land Rover, Nissan X-Trail and a Kawasaki ZX motorbike and happened at around 8.40pm on Saturday, August 8, near the Penrhos roundabout.

The road between Penrhos and the St Cenydd roundabout was closed for several hours.

Gwent Police said the motorcyclist, a 46-year-old man from Caerphilly, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Crash near Ystrad Mynach also closes A469 road

There was heavy traffic on the A469 on Saturday, August 8

At around 10.40am on the same day, August 8, a Ford Focus and a Citroen C4 were involved in a separate crash on the A469 near Ystrad Mynach.

The road was closed from the Wingfield roundabout onwards and caused heavy traffic queues throughout Llanbradach as traffic was diverted.

Ambulance and fire service were also in attendance.

Gwent Police said there were no serious injuries reported and the road was closed until 1.20pm.
