More than 500 lives have potentially been saved after two blood donation sessions in Caerphilly, according to the Welsh Blood Service.

The sessions were held on August 13 and August 14 at Caerphilly Leisure Centre, with 177 people donating blood – 17 of which were donating for the first time.

Meanwhile, five people signed up to the bone marrow register during the sessions.
