A 38-year-old drug dealer from Hengoed has been jailed for three years and nine months.

Neil Sargeant, of Heol Dewi, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday, August 18, where he admitted to possession with intent to supply cocaine, cannabis, amphetamine and valium.

Sargeant, who was operating from his garden shed, also pleaded guilty to possession of ecstasy.

Detective Sean Meyrick, of Gwent Police, said he hopes the sentence “deters anyone thinking about getting involved with this type of criminality.”

He said: “Sargeant was supplying class A, B and C drugs to people within our communities.

“I want to reassure residents across Gwent that we will continue our efforts to fight drug crime; carrying out operations to target those involved and bring them to justice.”
