A 20-year-old who knocked a man unconscious and robbed a car at knife point in two separate incidents has been jailed.
Jordan Owen, of Lewis Street, Aberbargoed, approached a man from behind in Cardiff on November 30 and punched him, knocking him out.
A month later, on December 27, Owen threatened two men, who were sat in a car in Bargoed, with a knife.
Owen stole cash and car keys before making off with the car.
Owen, who was 19 when he committed the crimes, appeared at Newport Crown Court on August 27, where he was jailed for three years and ten months.
He pleaded guilty to robbery and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
DC Peter Clegg, of Gwent Police, said: “Owen has shown remorse for his actions and has admitted these offences.
“These were particularly frightening and intimidating incidents for the victims involved and I hope the sentence given will help provide them with some comfort and closure.”
Owen was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £181 upon release. The victim surcharge goes towards the Victim and Witness General Fund, which provides funding for victim services.
