Three men who were involved in a “significant drugs operation” have been jailed for a combined 15 years.

James Hallett, William Davies and Zac Marchetti-Rees were all sentenced at Newport Crown Court on Friday, October 23.

Hallett, 29, of Ty Coch, Rhymney, was jailed for six years.

He pleaded guilty to being involved in the supply of cocaine and possession with intent to supply heroin.

Davies, 23, of the Walk, Ystrad Mynach was also jailed for six years.

Davies pleaded guilty to being involved in the supply of cocaine, as well as possession with intent to supply MDMA and ketamine.

On March 31 this year, police raided Hallett’s home in Rhymney, where they found thousands of pounds in cash, along with cocaine and heroin.

Both Hallett and Davies were arrested at the address on Ty Coch.

Police then raided Davies’ home in Ystrad Mynach and seized a “quantity” of cash.

Meanwhile, Marchetti-Rees, 22, of Pen y Cae, Ystrad Mynach, was jailed for three years. He pleaded guilty to being involved in the supply of cocaine.

Detective Chief Inspector Michelle Chaplin, from Gwent Police’s organised crime unit, said: “These three defendants were involved in a significant drugs operation supplying class A drugs in the Caerphilly area.

“Officers seized more than £50,000 in cash and cocaine estimated to have a street value of £36,000 during this investigation.

“These criminals are now behind bars and are unable to continue profiting from the misery their trade brings to our neighbourhoods.”

DCI Chaplin added: “Gwent Police is committed to protecting those at risk in our communities, bringing offenders to justice and making Gwent a hostile environment for those seeking to do harm.

“We understand that nobody knows their streets better than the residents that live there.  If you see something that either seems out of place or in most cases, if something just does not add up then you can contact us and know it will be dealt with seriously.

“Anyone with any information about the supply of drugs can contact us on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
