A Blackwood man has returned to the Royal Gwent Hospital to thank staff for saving his life from Covid-19.
Scott Howell, 49, said he would be “eternally grateful” to Dr Nick Mason and intensive care nurses Shannon Williams and Charlotte Tottle and other staff.
Mr Howell, who has diabetes and asthma, contracted Covid-19 and was on a ventilator in an induced coma at the Royal Gwent this time last year.
He told BBC Wales: “[The] worst year of my life, but also the best year of my life in that I faced death, but because of their help they’ve rebuilt me and I’m back as I was, so I will always be eternally grateful.”
