High-achieving firms in Caerphilly County Borough have been urged to stake their claim to this year’s Caerphilly Business Forum Awards.

Denise Lovering, chair of Caerphilly Business Forum, said the awards not only boosted the profile of individual organisations but also provided a showcase for the area’s top businesses.

She said: “The Caerphilly County Borough has traditionally been one of South Wales’ industrial powerhouses and, over the last 14 years, these awards have become one of the most respected in Wales.

“As well as honouring successful and ambitious businesses we’re keen to show what this area can offer and stake our claim to a key position within the new Capital City Region.

“We’re very encouraged to see high-quality enterprises from all sectors already coming forward to showcase their work and compete for these awards.”

Firms of all sizes and sectors based in Caerphilly County Borough have until October 2 to enter the 2015 awards. Winners will be announced at the high-profile Caerphilly Business Forum Awards dinner, taking place on November 20 at Bryn Meadows Hotel, Maesycwmmer.

This year’s award categories are: Business of the Year – Over 25 Employees; Business of the Year – Under 25 Employees; Manufacturing in Action; Innovation Award; and Contribution to the Rural Economy.

In addition businesses can nominate individuals for the Women in Business, Entrepreneur of the Year and Apprentice of the Year.

The awards are held in association with Coleg Gwent, with the support of sponsors: pharmaceutical firm Norgine; digital marketing firm Horizon; vehicle sales and support firm Glenside Commercials; rural development programme Caerffili Cwm a Mynydd; further education provider Coleg y Cymoedd; IT firm Excellence IT; electronic and software design company Blackwood Embedded Solutions; and accountancy firm Broomfield and Alexander.
