Caerphilly Council’s scam letters campaign continues

There is still time left for residents to help beat scammers by get rid of any suspect post they may have had through the door.

The “Scamnesty” campaign by Trading Standards and the Office of Fair Trading, and supported by Caerphilly County Borough Council, encourages people to drop their scam mailings into special “Scamnesty” bins during February.

Councillor Lyn Ackerman said: “We are fully behind this excellent month-long campaign to raise awareness of scams and scam mailings.”

Local author and serving police officer Mike Thomas will be launching his satirical novel ‘Pocket Notebook’ at Bedwas Community Education Centre on Monday March 1 at 10am.

Mike will read extracts from his book and talk about the journey he has taken, from writer’s dream to the reality of being published by one of the UK’s major publishers, Heinemann.
