Sheep walking at Duffryn Isaf Farm

If you are looking for a fun, exciting and unique thing to do, why not try sheep walking in Llanbradach?

At Duffryn Sheep Walking, based at Duffryn Isaf Farm, we have a field of friendly, outgoing and endearing sheep who love accompanying humans on nice long walks around the Welsh countryside.

We offer a sheep walking experience where you can get up close and personal to our sheep, feed them tasty treats and take photos with them.

After you have had a leisurely stroll around the farm with your sheep you will be able to enjoy a farm hand feeding experience.

Once you have been matched with one of our friendly sheep, you’ll be able to take them for a nice stroll through the beautiful Caerphilly countryside.

We are a family of five, our names are David (Dad), Joanne (Mum), Caroline, Heidi and Kate, we all live and work on the Duffryn Isaf Farm.

We started showing sheep in 2003, when Caroline was six-years-old. Heidi started showing sheep at five, while Kate started showing sheep at the young age of three.

Caroline formed her own flock of Kerry Hill sheep to take around shows, when she was 13. She trained them, trimmed them, washed them and took a million selfies with them. Caroline just loved being around sheep and soon trained Kate in how to care and show sheep. Kate entered the Royal Welsh show where she won a young handling award at the age of seven.

It was at these shows that we realised that many adults and children wanted to share in the fun and experience handling and interacting with sheep. So we had an idea, and decided to offer sheep walking at our farm. Our farm offers a unique experience for children and adults who love animals and would like to feed, pet and take pictures with them. We have a menagerie of amazing and approachable animals and we offer a safe and welcoming place where adults and children can get to know them better.

• Dates and times are available on the booking page of our website. We have walks every weekend and selected weekdays throughout the summer holidays. Booking is essential.

Prices: £16 for a sheep walker, £5 for Spectators and children under ten (no sheep included). Three and under are free.

Address: Duffryn Isaf Farm, Pandy Lane, Llanbradach, Caerphilly, CF83 3DY.
