Tân a Rhew’s invigorating combination of a wood-burning sauna and an ice bath

Nestled in the serene landscapes of Blackwood, Tân a Rhew provides a unique wellness experience centred around the elements of fire and ice, as reflected in its Welsh name.

Located at Pencoed Fach Farm, our wellness area offers rejuvenating sessions in an outdoor natural setting.

The cornerstone of Tân a Rhew’s offerings is the invigorating combination of a wood-burning sauna and an ice bath, both available as individual sessions. For those seeking a holistic approach, our contrast therapy seamlessly integrates the intense warmth of the sauna with the refreshing chill of the ice bath.

Revitalise your body and mind with the ultimate wellness duo – cold water therapy and sauna.

In the summer months, our ice baths range from 5°C to 15°C, providing a cool respite, while the winter months offer a more bracing experience with temperatures ranging from 1°C to 5°C. The wood-burning sauna, with temperatures soaring between 80°C to 100°C, complements the cold plunge, creating a harmonious balance of therapeutic contrasts.

Our session durations cater to individual preferences, with a typical single sauna session lasting 20 minutes, a single dip in the ice bath lasting ten minutes, and contrast therapy sessions including ten to 15 minutes in the sauna followed by two to three minutes in the cold plunge.

Dive into the invigorating embrace of cold water, boosting circulation, and enhancing recovery. Feel the exhilaration as it stimulates your immune system. Then, step into the soothing heat of the sauna, melting away stress, promoting relaxation, and detoxifying your body. This dynamic combination delivers a one-two punch for your well-being, fostering resilience and rejuvenation.

As our community continues to flourish, Tân a Rhew strives to extend its wellness benefits to as many individuals as possible. We are proud partners with the mental health charity Signposted Cymru, providing support and connections to those in need. We also offer various discounts to military personnel and blue light card holders.

Tân a Rhew invites you to embrace the transformative power of fire and ice in a natural oasis, fostering both physical and mental well-being
