Can you make a difference to a young person?

Are you ready to make a lasting impact on a young person’s life? If you have a spare room and a genuine desire to help, becoming a Supported Lodgings host with Llamau could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are searching for compassionate individuals or families, regardless of social background, who are willing to provide a room to a young person in need of support. All you need is a spare room and a sincere desire to help a young person develop the skills necessary for independent living.

Our Supported Lodgings Schemes are currently active in Torfaen, Caerphilly, and Blaenau Gwent.

In return for your generosity, we offer:

• Full Training: Comprehensive training to equip you with the knowledge and tools needed to support a young person on their journey to independence.

• Financial Support: Receive a regular weekly payment to cover your costs, ensuring that providing support doesn’t create a financial burden.

• Ongoing Support: Our dedicated team is committed to assisting you every step of the way, providing support and guidance whenever you need it.

Curious about the impact you can make?

Pip’s son had grown up and left home. She was looking for a means of making a difference.

Pip says – “I was scrolling on social media and came across an advert. What I connected with most was the fact that the project was working with 16 to 21-year-olds, a group I felt is very much forgotten about. I also liked the fact that I could continue to work and it wouldn’t have a massive impact on my life.

It was reassuring to be able to meet with the potential young person before the placement started. My first placement was a learning process for both myself and the young person.

There are ups and downs but I found myself to always be able to access support when needed.

Being a Supported Lodgings host has given me a sense of purpose, happy memories and the satisfaction of knowing that I am making a difference to a young person’s life.”
