Cascade’s U15s football team have been crowned league champions once again

The future looks bright for Cascade Ladies, as their U15s side have been crowned league champions for the third season in a row.

Since 2022/23, the group has won every single league game, a record spanning 56 matches.

This season was particularly impressive, with the group capping-off an already brilliant year with a league-cup double.

Coach Annaliese Lewis, who is also captain of the firsts, said: “We knew it would be a tough season with some real quality teams in the first division.

“Everyone’s committed to the project though, and the hard work has paid off.

“The girls are a credit to the club, and are highlighting the quality of football coming out of Caerphilly.

“As coaches, we couldn’t be more proud of what these players are achieving week in week out.”

Lewis also acknowledged how important success with the younger groups is for the seniors, who play in the second tier of women’s Welsh football.

She continued: “The pathway at Cascade YC is growing, and this has been highlighted with two of our U15s players stepping onto the field for our under 19s and not looking at all out of place.

“Our club will continue to provide high quality coaching across the women’s game and look to push the club forward.”

It’s been a great season for the club as a whole, who finished third in the Genero Adran South, just two points behind champions Pontypridd United.

This success was recognised by the FAW, who listed Erin Parry as a player of the season candidate, and Brendan Donohoe as a manager of the season nominee.

Cascade also pulled in Caerphilly Athletic manager, Ian Butterworth, as part of the coaching staff, but are already on the look-out for a new manager next season.
