Ystrad Mynach’s Centre for Sporting Excellence will host the 2025 Six Nations Women’s Summer Series this summer.

Following a successful inaugural event in Italy last year, the competition – which provides a platform for the next generation of female rugby union players – heads to Wales for the first time.

The international tournament will take place over three match days, beginning on Saturday July 5.

Games will also be played on Friday July 11 and Thursday July 17 in Ystrad Mynach.

The competition features predominantly under-20s squads from Wales, England, France, Ireland, Italy, and Scotland, with teams permitted to include up to five under-23s players per matchday squad.

Councillor Chris Morgan, Caerphilly’s cabinet member for leisure and green spaces, said: “It’s fantastic to see the Centre for Sporting Excellence hosting international fixtures of this scale.

“Events like this put Caerphilly on the sporting map, showcasing our world-class facilities and commitment to both grassroots and elite sport.

“We look forward to welcoming teams, supporters and rugby fans to the borough this summer.”

All matches will be streamed live via the Six Nations U20 YouTube channel.
